Sleepwalk Circus was started by Francis Lorenzo and JM Quiblat (An old veteran sleepwalker who guests or shows up every now and also who also coined the band name). The name was said to derive from their belief of moving forward and living this active life the best way it should be lived, with eyes closed.
This circus brews sounds that are sometimes dark, trippy, strangely happy, lucid, ‘machinic’, ‘demagougeric’, wishy washy, walkywalk, simple and fierce. Someone once described the music as being a “Frankenstein of genres”. The goal of the ringmaster is to bring people into his world, so that they come out still connected to it.

Sleepwalk Circus was started by Francis Lorenzo and JM Quiblat (An old veteran sleepwalker who guests or shows up every now and also who also coined the band name). The name was said to derive from their belief of moving forward and living this active life the best way it should be lived, with eyes closed. Mica Cabildo and Mike Quiblat were then recruited for live play and to complete the ‘1st circus’.
This first Sleepwalk Circus evolved from a four piece band, to a three piece trio (redundant yes I know) then to at times, a collaboration of artists ‘iron fistly’ guided by Francis. There were also those rare times where it was just him straight up alone. Why did it happen? Well due to schedule conflicts of several of the core members, live performances were put on hold. Not wanting that reason alone to stop the music, Francis took matters into his own hands, creating several demo recordings of the sleepwalk circus songs as well as rarely performing alone.
With Francis depressive lone ranger stint, the acquirement of new blood for the circus slapped him to some senses, this in turn brewed sounds that were sometimes dark, trippy, strangely happy, lucid, ‘machinic’, ‘demagougeric’, wishy washy, walkywalk, simple and fierce. It was then everything sort of took their shape and the soon the circus was setup. Seems the goal of the ringmaster is to bring people into the ‘Sleepwalk Circus tent world’ so that they come out still connected to it. So step right up folks and don’t be shy, this show has always been running.
