They came from Manchester, their album sounds like a raw misture of Stone Roses, Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine, Sonic Youth etc. bla-bla-bla… as you can read in their myspace they have tons of influence. and you may wondering how on earth does a band use a long and stupid name (that is cool somehow). but with their brilliant sounds you wouldn’t care about anything elses but the sounds itself. Here is a short interview with Working For A Nuclear Free City.

1. In my own opinion WFANFC play a deep and drowning sound with an impulsive anger, i’m a kind of wonderung how did you create the mood to recording these pieces?

we just play what ever comes out. it’s not really pre-conceived.

2. you put a lot of noise in your music, what kind of noise that you do like most?

We like most noises really. It doesn’t even have to be tuneful really. Sometimes the sound of a tree satisfies us, other times we like the sound of tanks driving over crushed human skulls.

3. i found somewhere in the net that someone already share your album for free. what is your own opinion about these free music sharing? do you have any plan about these music listeners behaviour?

It’s a pain in the arse when you spend years of sacrifice and hard work on something just for the scum and leeches to come and steal it from you. Hopefully they will invent some way to stop it, maybe by putting a load of viruses out there to destroy peoples computers. Im glad Oink is dead. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

4. what is the best album you just recently bought? what do you think about it?

tv on the radio. it makes me want to break things.

5. please mention 5 albums that change your life forever?

Life on a Liferaft – The barrelhouse BOYS
Tropical Gooses by the Flick Flack Wagon Children.
Gaze at the dead Ape Jimmy (self – titled debut)
My Gay Horse – Steven Stevens and his Stolen Stevens.
U2 by Achtung Baby

(we made the last one up)

6. in Myspace, did you ever find an out of nowhere but sounds good band? if so, what is their name?

Nope. I think Myspace is a bit shit really and I think it is full of shit bands rating themselves by the number of plays they get. It is really disheartening. The human race is going to the dogs. I only hope the dog race goes to the humans. Bonanaza!

7. any good, young band from Manchester that you can recomend ?

We find it a bit hard to keep up really. Too many bands around.
I think we would find it hard to name a good band in the whole of the country, never mind Manchester.
Tropical weasels.

8. last word?

zyzzyvas.
