Yesterday was October 31st, Halloween to some, but to me it was the first autumnal day or weather since early September. Before yesterday, it rained a lot (but in general it rains much more this year than last year) and the temperature did not drop somewhat significantly to be assured that it was October already, although daytime has remarkably shortened.
Everybody gets to catch a cold, and in turns.
It looks like I'm bound to have a little vacation for myself because things have slowly fallen to places once again, just in time for the country's best season.

How Do You Introduce Yourself?

Sepertinya praktek memperkenalkan diri dengan nama lengkap kurang lazim buat orang Indonesia ya. Saking tidak lazimnya, business card yang dipertukarkan via henpon pun cuma memuat nama depan dan nomer telpon.
Jadinya isi buku alamat dan nomor telpon gue lucu. Isinya nama depan semua, satu kata, dan nomer henpon. Identitas asli biasanya bisa ditemukan di alamat email, terutama email kantor, yang baru akhirnya diketahui setelah bergaul beberapa waktu dengan orang tersebut. Tapi kalau alamat emailnya berada di domain gratisan dan menggunakan nama-nama gaul atau sandi, bisa-bisa selamanya nama belakang teman yang ini jadi misteri.
Suatu hari gue jadi risih dan berniat merapikan buku alamat dan nomor telepon gue. Gue cek ke orangnya satu-satu nama belakang masing-masing, dan apakah itu nama suami atau nama sendiri (gue masih siwer kenapa waktu itu gue tanya ini). Setelah itu barulah gue tahu (setelah berteman 1 tahun) bahwa ada teman yang namanya bukanlah Panda, seperti yang gue tahu sela... Read Full Post..

Sewaktu anda mungkin mencurigai, saya pergi secara resmi ke ongkos karcis patah tulang yang tak pasti dari menyimpan ini sedikit blog ke atas. Dengan langkah besar di depan, banyak lukisan dan boneka yang ingin sekali dibuat... saya hanya tidak mempunyai waktu atau tenaga untuknya sekarang juga. Blog sendiri dengan tinggal seperti yang selama masa depan dapat diduga, meskipun, oleh sebab itu merasa bebas berkunjung satu kali di sedangkan dan memeriksa arsip jika anda akan suka! Saya akan melihat anda beberapa musim segera, kalau kami adalah kedua ke luar di hutan pakaian indah."

The ladies from Yotsuya church had a potluck party on Wednesday. It was a casual usual hang out but since it's on Katie's birthday, they decided to throw a little party for Katie. Very nice of them. I proposed a pizza party since I'm quite into pesto sauce these days hehehe. The others brought pasta, salad, and es teler for dessert.
I did ingredient shopping 2 days ahead of time. It was a bit tricky because I wanted to have all veggies stayed fresh until Wednesday and at the same time wanted the lowest price for most quality and quantity. So what I did was I went to several shops, investigated the prices and the goods, and later decided where and what day to buy what. I went shopping on foot with Katie on her stroler in these humid summer days. The pizza doughs were prepared on Wednesday morning, were let rise at home, to be grilled later at the venue. It was quite a hardwork kneading dough that yields 5 pizza rounds. So by now, I must have lost at least a kilogram preparing everyth... Read Full Post..

Note to Self: Know Your Limit

"As a newbie, please don't get into trouble by taking more challenges than you can handle."
A shirt dress, as simple as it may seem, is a pain in my a*s in the making, literally. And in my back. I chose this project only because this piece has front buttons that are essential for me since I still breastfeed.
Maybe because of the over-excitement (that "I'm actually making my own dress!" "Yes, I handmade this!"), I've completely forgotten that the shirt dress has collar, that now looks like a stand-up type although I believe according to my pattern it shouldn't, AND sleeves, the gathered-type ones.
Of course I thought wrong when I felt that the end of project was near after completing the collar. Because apparently in dress making, they save the hardest for last. (This last paragraph is essentially saying that attaching sleeves is difficult. Very, very difficult.)

Really, I Should Blog About It

These days (months/years) I'm too lazy to blog. I'd rather blogwalking, downloading (free stuff), or endlessly subscribing new sites to my Reader.
But apart from it, I have grown a new fetish. Yes, I said that a year ago but it was for cooking. However, that age is so over because I got fat from eating excessively my own cooking (for example a batch of choc chip cookies at one go), not to mention the vulgar growth of acne vulgaris on my face. I was billed quite a fortune to fix the face.
So my newest fetish is sewing that I really should blog about so that I will have a good documentary of me being a novice seamster. But I don't know I'm just too lazy lazy.
Besides, I'm thinking about trying out knitting because I've found out that I can't do sewing in the park. You can't draft a pattern or assemble fabric pieces in public spaces, like in the subway (apart from parks). Well, I can actually do embroidery but it's not my thing. So, maybe knitting is my thing. I can do it while taking Kati... Read Full Post..
