ROOTS & ECHOES

Six years ago, I fell in love with this band and have been loyal to them every step of the way. It has been two years since their last release which, for a band who usually releases something every year is a long wait. So, the anticipation is very high for this record. “Whose Gonna Find Me” the albums first single was a solid title but it left a little something to be desired. The band decided for this record to record in Noel Gallagher's studio in the heart of Buckingham shire. Producers also got switched from Ian Broudie to Craig Silvey who has worked with Magic Numbers in the past. Change is sometimes a good thing but Craig doesn't seem to pull out Coral's quirkiness and charm as well as Ian did on the early records. But, this is a Coral record and there are tunes here. “Remember Me” has a bit of that first album to it. “Put The Sun Back Into Our Hearts” has classic Coral written all over it, tender lyrics and a bit of a quirky sound.
