A couple of days ago a friend said 'Look, people appear as they have some role to play in our lives, if their role is finished they just have to go.'
That quote reminded me of old TV series like Highway to Heaven, The Incredible Hulk, and most notably Quantum Leap when the main character just suddenly leaped into someone's life and left abruptly when his or her task is finished. No goodbye, no parting shots, no last words, just 'boom' and gone. I guess that's how life being played. People just come and go, and sometimes all you can do is wonder why some people decided to vanish from your life even though you wanted them to stay.
And when it happened, all you can do is sit down and contemplate 'What role do they have in my life? Would this fraction of moments lead into something bigger? Or simply because I did something wrong? Do I deserve an explanation? Or Dean Stockwell just suddenly popped up and told them to get out and move on to the next task?
